Terms of service

The agreement between you and BotFerry for using the service. Last updated 28 July 2026.

The short version

Use BotFerry to relay your Slack conversations, keep your account details accurate, and don't abuse the service. Paid plans renew monthly through Stripe until you cancel. Cancel within 14 days of subscribing for a full refund; after that, cancelling stops the plan at the end of the period you've paid for. Plan changes are prorated and charged or credited right away. This is the plain-language summary; the sections below are the terms that apply.

Agreement

These terms are a contract between you and Gabriele Maurizio Albanese, sole trader (ditta individuale), VAT IT05114130759, Viale Ugo Foscolo 14, 73100 Lecce (LE), Italy ("BotFerry", "we", "us"), covering your use of the BotFerry service. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you use BotFerry for an organisation, you confirm you may bind that organisation, and "you" means both you and it. If you do not agree, don't use the service.

Our privacy policy and cookie policy form part of this agreement and explain how we handle your data.

The service

BotFerry relays mentions of a Slack app you create into a private operator channel your team controls, and carries operator replies back to the person who asked. You create and own the Slack app and hold its credentials; BotFerry drives it on your instruction. The docs describe how the relay works and what it does and does not do.

Your account

You sign in with a magic link or a single-sign-on provider you choose, so there is no password to manage. Keep access to your email and provider account secure, since anyone who has them can reach your account. Give accurate account and billing details and keep them current. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for the bots you run.

Subscriptions and billing

BotFerry is a paid subscription. Each plan is a flat monthly price with a monthly message allowance shared across your bots and a limit on how many bots you run; the pricing page lists the current tiers, and the docs explain how the allowance works.

Payments are handled by Stripe. By subscribing you authorise us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method the plan price plus any applicable tax at the start of each monthly period. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. Prices are in euros and shown exclusive or inclusive of tax as indicated at checkout; you are responsible for any taxes that apply to you. If you need Italian electronic invoicing, provide the required details at checkout and we include them on the invoice.

Changing your plan

You can upgrade or downgrade from your billing page while your subscription is active. Changes take effect immediately and are prorated for the rest of the current period. An upgrade charges the prorated difference to your card straight away; if that charge fails, your plan stays as it was. A downgrade applies an immediate prorated credit to your account that reduces your next invoice; it is not paid out in cash.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from your billing page.

  • 14-day money-back guarantee. If you cancel within 14 days of first subscribing, we cancel immediately and refund your most recent payment in full. You can claim it once per account and once per payment card. Once you have claimed it, re-subscribing later does not start a new 14-day window, and a subscription taken out after a claim is not refundable under this guarantee.
  • After 14 days. Cancelling stops your plan at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep access until then, we don't charge you again, and the current period is not refunded. You can resume before the period ends to keep the plan running.

Deleting your account does not by itself refund time remaining on a paid subscription. If you think a refund should apply outside the cases above, contact us before you cancel or delete, and we will deal with it fairly and as the law requires.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment is declined, we email you and Stripe retries the charge. While the subscription is past due, your bots stop relaying and new messages are dropped. Update your card from the billing page to clear the payment and resume; if it stays unpaid, the subscription is eventually cancelled. We are not liable for messages not relayed while a subscription is past due, cancelled, or over its allowance.

Acceptable use

Use BotFerry lawfully and as intended. Do not use it to break the law, infringe others' rights, send spam or malware, relay content you have no right to relay, probe or disrupt the service, or work around its limits, security, or billing. Follow Slack's own terms for the workspace and app you connect. On plans described as unlimited, "unlimited" means within fair use; we may contact you about abnormal volume that degrades the service for others. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.

Your content and data

You keep all rights to the Slack conversations you relay. For that relayed content you are the data controller and BotFerry acts as your processor on your instructions; we need a limited licence only to operate the relay for you. For your account and billing data we are the controller. Our privacy policy sets out what we hold and why, and we can provide a data processing agreement on request.

Availability and warranties

We work to keep BotFerry running but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we don't offer a specific uptime commitment at this time. Parts of the service depend on Slack and Stripe, which are outside our control. The service is provided "as is" and "as available", and to the extent the law allows we disclaim implied warranties such as fitness for a particular purpose. We may change, add, or discontinue features; if a change materially reduces a paid feature, you may cancel and, where fair, we refund the unused part of the current period.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, BotFerry is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for lost profits, data, or messages not delivered, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your rights as a consumer where they apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. When we do, we update the date at the top, and for changes that materially affect your rights or what you pay, we tell you before they take effect. Continuing to use BotFerry after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Italian law, and disputes are subject to the competent courts there, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
